The production of ON THE BORDERLINE impressed me with its visual qualities, superb direction and diverse acting cast. Clara Armand has created a blend of video and live action, which involves such a moving register of experiences and spectacle that you want to see the production and live along with the characters again and again. The actors sing, dance, speak clearly, they just make you forget that you are watching! Jane Bergeron, Natalie Jacobs, Daniel Tyler-Smith, DK Ugonna, Tony Tobias and Esther Ajumobi get you on the hook from the first seconds of the performance and don't let you off the hook till the end. Matt Lee-newby's imaginative soundscape is skillfully incorporated and enhances the impact. This visually captivating theatre event is a wonderful example of how well video and live theatre can work together for modern audiences.
